Sophia Young had 19 points to lead five San Antonio scorers in double figures as the Silver Stars improved to a league-leading 7-1 with an 84-74 victory over the Chicago Sky on Tuesday night. Rookie forward Danielle Adams scored 16 points, Becky Hammon had 14, and Ruth Riley and Danielle Robinson added 10 each for the Silver Stars.

Charles' 22 points, 23 boards lead Sun past Sparks (AP)

Tina Charles was far more impressed with personal accomplishments during her rookie season than she is this year. Now, she's just concerned with winning. Charles, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year, scored 22 points and tied her career high with 23 rebounds to lead the Connecticut Sun to a 79-76 victory over the short-handed Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday night.

Douglas, Davenport lead Fever past Mercury (AP)

Phoenix can't figure out how to handle Jessica Davenport. Indiana's 6-foot-5 center scored a career-high 25 points to help the Fever beat the Mercury 91-86 on Tuesday night. Davenport's previous career high of 20 points came on June 19 at Phoenix. "I think every person has a team that they play well against, and maybe Phoenix is just mine," Davenport said.

Shock waive center Jacinta Monroe (AP)

The Tulsa Shock have waived center Jacinta Monroe after she went scoreless in four appearances with the team. Monroe was waived Tuesday, 12 days after she signed with Tulsa in a move coach Nolan Richardson hoped would provide size and shot blocking for the WNBA's worst team. She also didn't block a shot in 21 minutes of playing time.
